My name is Gareth Howell and I’ve spent over 30 years in the fields of information system design and business continuity, and have been referred to as an industry expert by The BBC.

This site exists to help you learn more about Business Continuity and Information System Protection. I hope to share my passion with you, about why these subjects are vital to the long term survival of your business.

What I do
I help organisations become safer, more effective and more efficient, through business continuity management. I can also help you get the right backup and recovery systems in place, so you can easily restore operational processes in time, and prevent business losses.
My vision
I want businesses to be in a position to grow over the long term, whilst being protected from events that might otherwise jeopardise their future.

How I got into this
I got into business continuity as a natural progression from having spent 10 years as an electrical and systems engineer and 25 years as a consultant designing complex IT systems for organisations of all sizes.
Safety, Effectiveness and Efficiency have always been my watchwords and so I always designed systems that were both safe to operate and resilient to failure. Over time, I got more involved with the business processes that used IT as an enabling tool and again I focused on making those processes resilient to failure.
From that it was a small step to specialise in Business Continuity Management and especially the process of making businesses more resilient. I retained my expertise in data protection and recovery because this is often the most needed technology service in businesses of all sizes.
